An astonishing array of items will be for sale on Saturday, April 25 in Berkeley. On Oregon Street, close to the corner of Mathews (vicinity of San Pablo Park). Time: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No early birds, thank you. Sorry, but we cannot take requests to hold specific items. Two family-sale on one side of Oregon St, and another family selling directly across the street. So, here’s the description from one of the families: My prices will be LOW. There will be MANY items for $1 each. You’ll have fun looking through the heaps. Everything is CLEAN, and in good condition (if I know of any flaws, I’ve made note of them). This list is not complete, there’s a lot more! HOUSEHOLD ITEMS & HOME DECOR: a beautiful vintage Kitchen Aid mixer that works (with glass bowl) $25; wooden salad bowls; a classic copper/ceramic double-boiler; a big syrup dispenser with (I think) a bakelite handle; a brie baker; a french press coffee maker; a ceramic tray with a cherry pattern; a lovely crystal dolphin; a glass hummingbird feeder; a small vintage iron; a Japanese 3-layer bento box; a large iridescent glass ornament; a penguin statue; a beautiful wooden-framed bevelled mirror made in Mexico; two Aramis made in USA brown ceramic canisters; a white Bee House canister; a vintage Tupperware cake carrier (with handle); an electric knife (works); a big rolling pin; a butter bell; vintage baby-room decor; cookie decorator; some cool vintage tins; a big flour sifter; baskets; a heavy plaster primate (?) skull; Buddha wall art; a set of Art Deco fireplace andirons; a Chinese restaurant stainless steel teapot; glass piggy banks; a white porcelain statue of Quan Yin; a ceramic “Home Brew” dispenser; a large American flag (possibly a casket flag); a fleet of Fashion Polly vehicles (yes, even the Party Bus!); anatomically-correct baby dolls; a big set of fancy-edge scissors; Fred & Barney driving in their car (as-is); a French Scrabble game (complete); a big pile of kids’ pencil cases; a beautiful handmade ceramic mirror (looks like Rapunzel-themed); an Art Nouveau-style graceful lady lamp; some purses; lots of coffee mugs (some Rae Dunn); a Charles Prezels tin; a spice shelf; marble solitaire with 36 marbles and wood board; a big assortment of $1.00 costume jewelry (no gold, trust me). Items are still coming out of cabinets and closets, so this list is not complete. MY BIG ITEMS: A genuine wrought iron votive candle holder from a deconsecrated Catholic church. It holds 18 candles (it’s actually sized for the large votive candles; what’s in the candle-holders now are the smaller votives, real red glass). Priced at $100. A mid-century white wire chair. I can’t say for certain that it’s a Bertoia, as it had belonged to my brother who was in the collectibles business decades ago. It’s in good condition, but it’s missing the four little sled rail floor protectors. Priced at $125. Two kids’ vintage school chairs; one is red, and one is green. $20 each, or $35 for both. Two wooden bookshelves (not pictured). $20 each. A two-tiered end table made of wood and wrought iron (not pictured). $25 CLOTHING: all clothing is only $1.00 each! Mostly my daughter’s, who is slender and petite. Brandy Melville; Forever 21, North Face, other assorted brands. Some really nice bathing suits. Pants; shorts; jackets; tops. Mostly size small. Other miscellaneous clothing for women. And from one of the other participating families: a vintage child’s rocking horse; vintage women’s hats, miscellaneous household items. CHECK BACK TO SEE IF THIS LIST IS UPDATED! So, bring your dollar bills, your wagon, your wheelbarrow, and your shopping cart and take away some nifty stuff.
