Jim was also the creator of Cadet Slouch, a cartoon that ran for more than 30 years. We are offering some original Cadet Slouch books. Jim and Theresa collected American West historical items that focused on the outlaws and lawmen of the time. A portion of their gun collection sold at Bonhams Auction House for more than $12 million dollars. The gun that Pat Garrett used to kill Billy the kid sold for $6.5 million, the highest price paid for a handgun at auction. We are pleased to offer many non-firing reproductions of famous guns including those owned by General Custer, Wild Bill Hickok, General Patton & Wyatt Earp and a collection of Denix non-firing reproduction Western rifles. Also on offer is a number of important historical autographs including, P.T. Barnum, Edmund Hillary, Enrico Caruso, Annie Oakley, Lord Wellington & Richard Nixon. Another interesting historical artifact available is a collection of items consisting of photographs, documents, and fired bullets and shell casings from the guns in the Sacco-Vanzetti case. There are sports autographs by Jim Palmer, Cal Ripken, Frank Robinson, Muhammad Ali and more. The estates art collection includes several pieces of original art by famous western artists including Nick Eggenhofer & Clyde Forsythe. We have an original painting by Roger Kastel that was done as the cover illustration for a western book. Kastel was the artist who painted the Empire Strikes Back and Jaws movie posters. The Everett Spruce Blaffer Series of Southwestern Art is also featured in the sale. A wide collection of western photographs, posters, documents, cowboy hats, cow hide, mounted cow horns and much more are part of the collection. A watch repair bench used from 1922 - 1960 is a unique piece. Other general interest items include flags, pottery, furniture, camera equipment, dishes, kitchen items, baskets, a grandfather clock (built from a kit by Mr. Earle), toys (a retired Playmobil Victorian Mansion Dollhouse), dolls, Texas Aggie memorabilia, office supplies, lamps, blankets, linens, ammo, a small casket, gun cases, and Disney memorabilia (including an original Disneyland map from 1964.)
