A student-led garage sale project that helps families clear out and repurpose unused items while giving back to the community. Many people have items sitting in their garages, closets, or storage spaces that they no longer need. Instead of sending those items to the dump, Declutter for a Cause helps turn them into something useful for others. We will have books, furniture, toys, games, and other items to buy We donate 75% of proceeds to charity. If you what us to do a garage/ yard sale for you here is our pitch: Our mission is simple: Help people declutter, reduce waste, and support local charities. How It Works We help organize a garage sale at your own home, using items you no longer need. Location: Your garage or driveway Time: Weekends, by arrangement You provide the items. We help with the setup, organization, pricing, advertising, and sales. Where the money goes, -To keep this project sustainable, 5% of the proceeds will be used to cover basic event expenses, such as signs, supplies, water, and drinks for student volunteers. The remaining proceeds will be divided according to the homeowner’s chosen plan. -At least 50%, or more, if you choose, will be donated to Samaritan House What We Will Do Our student team will: • Help organize and set up the garage sale • Sort and arrange items for display • Help price items, based on your preference • Advertise the garage sale in the neighborhood and community • Help manage the sale during the event • Coordinate donations to Samaritan House or another approved charity, based on the chosen plan What We Cannot Do At this time, we cannot accept random item donations unless there is already an active or scheduled garage sale.
